
One Watford Green Business Pledge Member
New Pledge Member, Scotthall BMW, has signed up to the Silver level of the Pledge and is taking great strides to become a more sustainable business.
Part of the Jardine Motors Group, Scotthall BMW is committed to minimising its impact on the environment and providing sustainable choices for its customers.
It undertakes a number of measures in its branch including:
• Raising awareness amongst customers to show how reviewing their fleet can reduce CO2 emissions
• Minimising energy and water consumption
• Using their energy more efficiently
• Minimising waste and promoting recycling
• Adopting repair and maintenance processes to reduce waste
• Controlling any waste products produced by its work processes
• Wherever possible, seeking to recycle materials and waste products
• Ensuring that staff are aware of the impact its operations have on the environment and training them to avoid waste and use energy more efficiently
• Monitoring energy use and setting targets for reduction
• Implementing cost effective energy efficiency measures where practical and prioritising energy efficient investments
In addition, the wider BMW Group is also committed to being a sustainable vehicle producer:
• It is a member of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, an organisation dedicated to promoting vehicles with a reduced carbon impact
• BMW reduces environmental impacts during the entire vehicle lifespan - from manufacturing, to use and servicing, and finally recycling
• Specialists start laying the foundations for end-of-life vehicles to be recycled and disposed of efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner during the product development process
• It has receive numerous awards recognising its environmental credentials
